At LKS Piano & Music Academy, we make learning the piano enjoyable, supportive and rewarding. Whether you are starting from scratch, returning to piano after a break, preparing for an exam or developing your performance skills, lessons are tailored to your goals, age and ability.
Lessons are available in person at our Derby studio or online, making it convenient to learn from home.
One-to-One Piano Lessons
Our individual piano lessons are suitable for students aged 5 to adult, from beginner to advanced level. Each lesson is personalised to your pace, interests and musical goals.
One-to-one lessons can include:

Group Piano Lessons
Our group piano lessons are suitable for both children and adults.

- Backing tracks and popular music to make lessons lively and enjoyable
- Creative activities that develop rhythm, coordination and musical confidence

Groups are carefully arranged according to:
- Similar age group
- Similar piano ability level
- A maximum of 4 students per group
Group lessons are not only suitable for children. Adults can also benefit from learning in a small, supportive group, whether they are complete beginners or already have some piano experience.
With no more than four students in each group, everyone receives attention from the teacher while enjoying the motivation, social experience and fun of learning piano together.
Online Piano Lessons
Online piano lessons offer a convenient and flexible way to learn from home. They are suitable for students of all ages and levels, whether you are beginning your musical journey or continuing to develop your skills.
Online lessons can be especially helpful for busy families, adults with limited travel time or students who prefer the comfort of learning at home.

Piano Exam Preparation
Students can prepare for examinations with:
- ABRSM
- Trinity College London
- Rockschool
Exam preparation may include technique, scales and arpeggios, sight-reading, aural skills, musical interpretation and performance confidence. Students are supported throughout the process so they feel well prepared and confident on exam day.
